סמליל תוכנית הרדיו

מת על מטאל היא תוכנית רדיו ורשת העוסקת במוזיקת המטאל על שלל תתי סגנונותיה. התוכנית משודרת במתכונת שבועית במוצ"ש בתחנת הרדיו הבינתחומי (106.2FM) בשעה 23:00, ובמקביל בתחנת הרדיו האינטרנטית "רדיו הקצה". כמו כן, התוכנית משודרת כפודקאסט באתר "מת על מטאל" הרשמי. החל מסוף שנת 2018 התוכנית החלה את שידוריה גם באפליקציית ספוטיפיי. התוכנית מופקת ומוגשת על ידי האחים ניב וליאור פלג מאז שנת 2007, וכוללת מוזיקה בסגנון מטאל לסוגיו, סקירת הסצנה המקומית והעולמית וכן קטעים הומוריסטיים, חלקם קיצוניים. שם התוכנית הוא משחק מילים בו המילה האנגלית "מטאל" נשמעת דומה מאוד לצירוף מילים בסלנג בעברית "מת על" במשמעות של "אוהב מאוד".

רקע

התוכנית החלה את שידוריה ב-31 בינואר 2007, ושודרה בתחילה בתחנת "רדיו הר הצופים" בירושלים בימי רביעי, ולאחר מכן עברה למוצאי שבת בשעה 23:00 (משבצת שהייתה קבועה לאורך שנים). לאחר כשנתיים התוכנית החלה להיות משודרת בסינדיקציה גם בתחנת הרדיו "הרדיו הבינתחומי" (106.2FM), עד שתחנת "רדיו הר הצופים" הפסיקה את פעילותה והתוכנית הפסיקה להיות משודרת שם מטבע הדברים. עד 2016 התוכנית שודרה בתחנת "הרדיו הבינתחומי" בלבד, אך ניתן היה להאזין לה דרך אתר הפודקאסטים Icast. בהמשך מת על מטאל פתחה עמוד פודקאסט עצמאי באתר "Podbean" וכן אתר רשמי לתוכנית - באתרים אלו ניתן להאזין לארכיון הכולל את כל תוכניות מת על מטאל שאי פעם הוקלטו. במהלך חודש יוני 2016, מת על מטאל החלה להיות משודרת גם בתחנת הרדיו האינטרנטית "רדיו הקצה" (Kzradio.net) במקביל לשידורה ברדיו הבינתחומי על גלי ה-FM. החיבור בין רדיו "הקצה" לתוכנית "מת על מטאל" התבשל במשך שנים בין מייסד ושדרן התחנה הוותיק "קוואמי" (אייל פרידמן) וצוות מת על מטאל, ובמהלך חודש יוני 2016 החלו שידורי מת על מטאל גם בתחנה זו. התוכנית עצמה משלבת הומור, מידע ואקטואליה מסצנת המטאל, ראיונות עם להקות מישראל ומחוצה לה, וכן מגוון רחב של מוזיקת מטאל מכל התקופות והסגנונות.

הפורמט של התוכנית הוא עיסוק בנושאים שונים בכל משדר, כאשר ישנה "מעטפת" מסוימת לכל תוכנית ונושא אותו היא סובבת. הפרקים השונים עוסקים בלהקות מסוימות או תאריכים שונים בעלי משמעות. כך למשל, שודרה תוכנית המוקדשת ל"שר הטבעות" במקביל ליציאת הסרט "ההוביט", ובסמוך ליום השואה שודר פרק ספיישל ליום השואה: תוכנית פחות הומוריסטית מהרגיל, בה נוגנו שירים בנושאי השואה ומלחמת העולם השנייה.

בתוכנית התארחו עשרות אמנים מסצנת המטאל העולמית וכן מזו הישראלית, בין השאר התארחו סולן ומנהיג להקת Megadeth דייב מאסטיין, מתופף להקת Slayer לשעבר דייב לומברדו, באסיסט ומנהיג להקת Cannibal Corpse אלכס וובסטר ורבים אחרים.

טקס פרסי מת על מטאל

לקראת סוף כל שנה אזרחית צוות מת על מטאל מסכמים את השנה במוזיקת המטאל העולמית במסגרת "טקס פרסי מת על מטאל", אלבומי הלהקות ששוחררו באותה השנה מתחרים זה בזה בתתי הקטגוריות השונות, כאשר האלבום המנצח זוכה להשמעת שיר מתוכו. בחירת הזוכים בתחילת הדרך הייתה אך ורק על ידי הצבעת צוות השדרנים, אך עם השנים קהל המאזינים הפך ליותר ויותר מעורב ואף הביא לכך שהטקס כלל שני פרסים: "פרס בחירת השופטים", ו"פרס בחירת הקהל". ב"טקס פרסי מת על מטאל 2018" הפורמט השתנה שוב, וחזר למצב בו ישנו רק פרס אחד. משקל קולות הקהל לראשונה קיבל משקל כבד יותר משל שופטי מת על מטאל כיחידים, כך שרק במקרה בו שני השופטים בוחרים באותו אמן בקטגוריה מסוימת, בחירתם יכולה להעפיל על בחירת הקהל.
