‏CISM- chief inflight service manager (Purser)

Chief Pursers are the highest ranking flight attendants who have been promoted through the rank: junior Flight attendant → Flight attendant- Senior Flight attendant → Purser → CISM- chief inflight service manager or chief Purser.

To reach this position the crew member must have had a mandatory amount of service at EL-AL its 25 years within the airline .

Further training is mandatory, and Chief Pursers typically earn a higher salary than flight attendants because of the added responsibility, seniority and professionalism.

Most of the chief inflight service are instructors, and trainers.

The title associating with this crew member differs from airline to airline. These crew members are mainly found on larger aircraft types and are in charge of the running of the cabin. They report when the cabin is secure for takeoff and landing, deliver on-board announcements, and any broken or missing emergency equipment items to the pilots after the pre-flight check.

They generally operate the plains doors during routine flights as well as hold the passengers manifest and account for all money selling of duty free goods , they are mainly responsible for evacuating the passengers in emergency situations and required paperwork that reports each flight.
