English: Prime Minister David Cameron and His Excellency President James Michel of the Republic of Seychelles signed a Memorandum of Understanding, 22 February 2012, establishing a Regional Anti-Piracy Prosecutions Intelligence Coordination Centre in the Seychelles. The UK has agreed to pay £550,000 towards the construction of this counter-piracy centre, which will be hosted and owned by the Seychelles Government.
The President is in the UK on a Guest of Government visit and this agreement highlights the close collaboration between the UK and the Seychelles in tackling the scourge of piracy off the coast of Somalia.
